you would probably have around $16 million after taxes
and you could make around 500k a year in tax free bonds and not even have to pay tax on that amount
why the heck would you work........go out and play all day

I don't think that I would work the same jobs because if I won the lottery I would start several non-profits (for the homeless and for families of autistic children). I would assume that setting up and running those would take alot of time and they would be a better use of my time than what I currently do for a living.
Can you tell that I have thought about this one alot? Winning the lottery and helping others with it is my favorite daydream (well, after the one where I meet Johnny Depp!)

I would quit my job in a heartbeat and
#1 I would pay off all my debts
#2 Buy a couple of decent (not luxury) homes and maybe about 5 good pieces of land in different places
#3 Take my wife to Hawaii for 2 weeks.
#2 Buy a motorhome and take my family all over the US for 1 year as a nice long "educational" field trip for my kids
#3 Find something I enjoy doing and go at it with all my heart since financing a business would be no problem. Probably professional photography.
yup I can go on dreaming... cuz that's all it is... a pipe dream.

I would keep my job long enough to avoid leaving my coworkers in a bad spot (I'm thinking weeks here, not months). Personally, I think it would be unfair to keep a job if you won the lottery as you would be keeping a job that would be needed (more) by someone else. In other words -my giving up a job would make an opening for someone that needs a good job. It would be selfish of a lottery winner to keep their job.

If you win a "$25M lottery", it is probably an annuity and if you get the lump sum, after taxes you only have $8M. Since I would buy a $5M apartment in NYC, I would need the $3M to pay the taxes+monthly fees. So I would still need my job :<
Thought about this way too many times (Mega Millions is $100M+ right now)

Hmmm, seeing I love my job, but I hate the petty bull that goes with it, I may or may not keep it. I bet you anything I would love my job if I didnt have to worry so much about paying the bills seeing I get paid dirt.
I think I would quit though, and possibly find another job or full time volunteer position doing something I really liked and didnt get bored at. Wow, wishful thinking

no I would not keep the same job I had...but I would probably do something that I would be interested in before I "won" the lottery that I did not have the money before...like flipping houses...I always thought that would be interesting...plus I probably wouldn't have much time to work....I would love to travel if I had the money!!
