i'm partway in agreement with you. although i hate to put myself in a position to judge (only God can do that), but i didn't have a problem with him being executed. he did a lot of terrible things to a lot of people. what i DID have a problem with, as you point out, is the circus-like aspect that has reigned since his capture until his execution and the way that people CELEBRATED his death. i'm sorry, you can be relieved or happy that he died, particularly if you are an iraqi, and have strong feelings about it, but having a PARTY is totally in bad taste. and anyone who is not iraqi has even less right for a celebratory attitude. this is someone's death, and anyone's death should be handled with respect.

It's obvious the man was evil. That said the way he was tried and the way he was executed was disgusting. I do believe he will be a martyr and I firmly believe that what we saw was a revenge killing. The US handed him over knowing full well that the trail was not fair and balanced. I was against the death penalty and now I know why it so offends me.
At some point the US has to take some responsibility for what has happened here. French President Jacques Chirac said that the war has caused there to be more terrorism. I have to believe that now there will be people that blame America for this and more innocent Americans will die. When will this all end. Georgie has now finished what daddy started Saddam is dead and at the end of the day America is less safe than it was.

You reported: i think of that many human beings pronounced the photos of a disheveled finding Saddam after his capture and felt better sympathy for him then his victims with the aid of reality they could connect Saddam's face to suffering better helpful then his victims. I say: hear! hear! Corrupt ill f*cks deserve an end lots worse than putting... even however the lily-livered liberals say: oh noooo! ...do now no longer execute anybody, we are able to freshen up this through technique of doing X... i've got have been given given up on the full politics factor in the previous... people who heavily isn't waiting to attraction to close even the basics of arithmetic (the situation you will set up in some way what a 'optimal suitable' answer sounds like) communicate 'as though' they could draw close the lots better complicated questions of politics... fortunately, it somewhat isn't any longer ultimate 2 crappos as we are all part of a variety of fascist state (liberals nicely-cherished this, ***** approximately it & then carry seminars, paint artwork of artwork & so on)... Hooray for fascism! - that's what I say... it somewhat is what we deserve, lazy butt 'we'...

I think his trial process should have lasted longer.I think that whoever video taped it with their camera phone needs a good lashing. And i think they should have waited until after the Iraqi holiday to do it.Of course if he would have gotten a better trial.....it would have happened after the holiday.
But, I do understand that the American government did try to stop all of that...the holiday thing and short trial. The American government thought it should not have happened that way either but was unable to change it.And if that is true, then that tells you that the Iraqi government has a long way to go before it changes and it will still be the same even w/o Saddam.
But, also, i suppose it is possible that our government did nothing to persuade any of that and that they are lying to us to save face.
I do agree Saddam should have received a death sentence, I did not like the barbaric hanging and i was VERY shocked that it happened so soon.I do not like the message it sent to the Iraqi people about America and Iraq officials. Very sad.

You don't think he had a fair trial? Who do you think was responsible for the hundreds of thousands of ordinary people buried in mass graves all over Iraq?
As for making a video of the hanging and spreading it all over the internet, I would agree with you if this were an ordinary death-penalty case. But it isn't. He was the head of state, and he headed a regime with a policy of rape, torture, and mass murder. I am not even talking about the wars he got into. His death needed to be viewed by as many people as are willing. It is the only way to prove he is dead.
If he had been left alive, he would always be a danger. The region is unstable enough that there could be no guarantee that he wouldn't gain power again.

I totally agree with you, it was not a fair trail and the execution process showed that it was all about REVENGE.
there were no uniformed workers to do the execution, what we saw was some terrorists men with civil clothes, they didn't even know what human rights are, they didn't respect that the man is going to die, even if he was a Dictator and monster nobody deserve this.
and by the way the video hanging was shot by a cell phone camera, the government did not know about it, if that video did not show in the media we would not know what actually happened.
about the Trail, I don't know why it was only about the "Dujail"
what about the Kurds? they didn't get the chance to try him.
and what about Kuwait? and Iran?
I think they just want to execute, they don't care about trails they want his head only. as I said it all about "REVENGE"
I really now don't respect the Iraqi Government they are just a bunch of bandits

I watch to many movies because I think that it wasn't the real Saddam and it was a governmental card trick...and I don't know which government, but, they video taped it...sent it to media, arrested those people all to make us outraged about how he was killed and not realize it wasn't him that was killed at all. (Of course the last thing I watched the night before we got the news was mission impossible 3, so my judgement may be a little bias...but you never know.)
Why wasn't anyone outraged at the cubans for partying in the streets when they thought Castro was on his way out of this world...it's funny how people pick and choose when they want to be sensitive to things. Castro didn't even die...so how insensitive was that!

Regardless..the man deserved to die for all the murders he did. I am glad he is gone, but nothing will make the people he has harmed feel better. The fact the man even got a trial was beyond kind IMO they could have just shot his sorry butt when they found him
And yes he was able to say goodbye to his brothers before he died, far more then what he gave to his victims

After seeing how many British soldiers have died in the conflicts over the years and the way he treated his own people then i think that the man deserved to die and it should have been done by the people who he hurt.He had more of a fair trial than he deserved.Personally he should have been gassed the same way he gassed 250 innocent people for of different mind.
