I have Norton Internet Security 2007.
When I click on the Norton Internet security tab at the top,
it doesnt allow me to click "tasks and scans" to run a scan

Make sure you are not using an invalid key or a trial version. If you are, it may have expired and so it wont let you scan. So, try reinstalling it and make sure you use the key from the box / container from where you purchased it.

i have nortons and have had no problems with the program
reinstall also
check there web site for faq's that could help

I don't know why this is happening. I just got that same software for Christmas and I love it. Try re-installing it.
