No, not really. I work all sorts of shifts as a carer for old people with Alzheimers and often when I finish the (long) shift I feel that I really need a drink, I feel tired, depressed, frustrated, lots of things. I get home and open a bottle or two of wine, but really it's no answer, I wake with a muzzy head and realise I have to start another shift at 6am... But i delight in your question ...

No, have to give that a big thumbs down.
Also, alcohol IS a depressant. You will feel even worse when it wears off.

I'll go with one or 2 to take the edge off, getting drunk and sick isn't for me.
I drink such that I can split wood the next day, nothing harder on the head than this chore
