Will these self righteous people shut up already. I'm just waiting for Helen Lovejoy to log on "Think of the children already." If you want to erase Bonds or Mcgwire or Sosa's records you have to erase every single game ever played in the 90's. How can any one say that Ken Griffey didn't juice up. I'm not saying that he did or that he looked like someone on the juice or cream or whatever, but how can we say that anyone was truly clean in the 90's or the 80's with greanies. How can say the Bonds couldn't have possibly be hitting all those home runs when hes that old, but not take a second look at Roger Clemens, or Karl Malone. (sure, Malone was a basketball player, but both Clemens, Malone , and Bonds were better players in the latter parts of their career.) If we know of at least one pitcher who used performance enhancing drug how can we only look at the sluggers.
I've herd the argument on TV, with someone showing the rookie card of Barry Bonds and saying how skinny he was and how big he was now. We'll I guess that scientific evidence. I mean I've never seen a college player gets bigger after he become a pro. Lets not forget until Bo Jackson, lifting weights was a big no-no for baseball player.
Talking about Bo Jackson, how come a 350 lb Lineman able to bench press 500 lbs is seems a feasible to us. I guess all of Shawn Marriman records should count, I mean he already served his suspension. I mean he only tested positive once. Not like Bonds or Big Mac or Sosa. I mean they been positive countless of times. By countless I mean you can't count the times they been tested positive, because its 0!
If anyone is to be blamed for the steroid problem its the owners for turning a blind eye, cause it was alright when they were cashing in on the summer of 1998. Or maybe us who bought the tickets or watched the games on TV and not say a word about Big Mac resemblance to Lou Ferigno from the Incredible Hulk. We all allowed it to happen, and drank to kool aid believing that it wasn't happening before and now we took the pill thinking that we have a moral outrage against the same players, cause it suppose to make us feel warm and fuzzy casting our fingers at them and telling them that they are the cause of all the problems in the world.

So Yes Let them in Let them all in we cause whatever problems we have ourself

No, Barry Bonds shouldn't be voted into the Hall of Fame b/c if Mark McGwuire isn't on the Hall of Fame ballot this year b/c of a juiced ball that he hit for his 70th home run and b/c he took steroids then Bonds shouldn't be voted into the Hall of Fasme after he retires. Barry Bonds is also la liar when it came to the steroid scandel in 2004, saying that he never took steroids and saying that he was supplied the steroids by BALCO.

Never! I think a lot of you are missing the point. When you say he had HOF # before he started....when did he start? what day? you don't know. Maybe back when he was skinny he was doing amphetamines or uppers. What about the guys that didn't do it? They are over looked because the standards were raised by cheaters. What about the guys that didn't make it to the majors because the guys in front of them were cheating? What about Hank Arron and Roger Marris...is it fair to them to no longer hold the record that they worked so hard to achieve due to a cheater? Shoeless Joe ,Pete Rose ...they cheated the game and the future youth of the world DESERVE to know it! The same goes for Bonds and all the others that have bought or used illegal drugs.

Let's clear a few things up. Mark McGwire used steroids for most of his career. His entire career other than his first two years in the league is all but a lie. Then not to have the manhood to come clean with congress and the baseball world is a cowardice act.

That propaganda that the US Government tried to pin on Barry Bonds about using steroids earlier in his careers is a bunch of crap!!. If it was true, they would have charged him by now on several counts of perjury in front of a grand jury.

As for him using steroids to prolong his career, at least he was man enough to admit he used them. I don't like that he did it, but a least I can respect the man for being honest.

His career numbers prior to using are stellar and worthy of the hall. Anything after that is a lie. Will it be enough to keep him out?
We won't know that until the smoke clears from the Balco case.

If he used steroids for and extensive time during his career then he does not deserve to get in. But I could see voters letting him in if he only used short term.

That's a BIG.....NOOOO!! He cheated, plain & simple. I used to have great respect for him as a player. Barry Bomds has/had perhaps the greatest God given baseball skills we had witnessed for many, many years. But it wasn't enough, had to artificially enhance his body.

I am very hopeful he doesn't greak Hank's record. Aaron got the record the old fashioned way.....he earned it!! As did Roger Maris.

And Maris endured having an asterisk by his record 61 homers when no other player before or since has had his achievement tainted by such a qualifier. Many other records have been broken since in the 162 game era, & none of those garnered an asterisk. It was an insult Maris didn't deserve, & he took it to his grave.

With any luck , when Congress reconvenes, it will be proven that Bonds committed perjury, & he'll be out of baseball before breaking the record.

Let's be real people are answering this question by saying no to bonds, sosa and mcgwire but come on if they did it or not, it was in a time when they were not illegal so the only people responsible is the commissioner and the regulations guys who say what is legal and what is not. The record speaks for himself wheter u like or not he still hit the homers and the others guys too and trust me people if u were playing in those days u would have done tha same thing because big hitters get big contracts.

No, neither Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, nor Palmeiro should be in the Hall of Fame. Using steroids and banned substances is cheating, and cheaters should not be recognized, no matter what they achieve.

I guess so since no drug policy was in place when he was taking the growth hormones. If he gets caught again though he should not.. Even though he is a jerk, he did put up Hall of Fame numbers before the steroid taking.

Only if Mark McGwire gets voted in. And, Pete Rose should be put in the Hall before Bonds. Bonds is a disgrace to the game. Have you ever seen pictures of him in the early '90's and compared them to pictures of him today? No one, but no one, puts on that much bulk just from exercising.

Well I believe that he should be in because they don't have any evidence saying Bonds took steroids, they could only assume. But personally He probably did but he never got caught.
