My Nokia's BLC-2 Li-on battery has started not to last very long during calls, but also takes a very short time to get back to the "battery full" message. I do tend to keep it on charge at home, on the desk and in the car and not use it very much at all. I didn't think Li-on batteries had the dreaded "memory effect". However, I do know that they "age" and I bought it in mid-2004. Is it time to replace it?

Keeping a Li-ion battery on full charge is a killer. You mustn't overcharge them, but of course phone makers push right to the limit and more to get the max life between charges. Try keeping the replacement off the charger until it need it.
