Simply put, it depends on your processor. It has been noted across many websites that running Intel's new Core 2 Duo with 533MHz (PC4200) benchmarks higher than 667 (PC5300) because it is in sync with the processor's Front Side Bus. Also, the 4GB will definitely be more expensive because it is a larger amount of RAM and also requires a 64-bit compatible OS to utilize all the available RAM. 2GB is enough for heavy gaming and video editing, so I'd imagine that only if you were doing some extreme number crunching operation to get the 4GB. You could always get 2GB of 533 and overclock it if your motherboard supports it, since RAM prices have skyrocketed since the last year.

Well... GygaBytes is the memory of at which speed your whole PC can run while you are using it, ever see those old videos online and its unclear and slow, well the PC with 4 GB will run faster and smoother, but the two gyg will run a lil slower if comapred to each other, 4 GB is Better. even though the powers of 533 Mhz is less thatn 667 mhz.

If your motherboard can make use of either then you must ask yourself what percentage is 533 to 667?

If it is less than 50 percent improvement you would NEVER notice the difference.

So you answer then become very apparent.

If the front side bus of your motherboard will handle the higher speed memory then it is definitely better.

The slower ram would allow you to have more stuff in active memory, but the higher speed memory will process it through faster, making it to where not as many things need to be active at once.

And if you need 4 gig of stuff in active memory, you are either processing video, or you need to clean some stuff off your machine.

The 4gb is better, but the 667mhz is faster. I would go with the 4GB at a smaller speed.

The one that most closely matches the needs of your main board, and it's speeds!

"Better" for ME, would be to have the 4Gb on my P4 (533Mhz) system, that is running http://pclinuxos.com (most processses are upto 50X faster!). Yes, it comes with 5500 FREE games and apps.

well, look at your computer's specs, because what if yourcomp needs 667mhz, and you buy the 4g 533mhz from a no return place, you just lost money. do a staples ram configurator to find out
