Well since the democrats' first moves in Congress were to exclude any Republican involvement in their proposed legislation using House Rules which they complained about as the minority and promised to change. I would say no. This country needs real bi-partisan effort if we are going to act in the best interest of the country and attempt to bridge the divide. However, what we are going to get appears to be politics as usual. Nothing will change of any substance over the next 2 years.

I don't think so. Bush has actually done a pretty decent job if you don't consider the war in Iraq. Life in America hasn't been much better than it is now. (And I never voted for Bush). I think there will exist too much contention and pride for the Dems to do much.

I'm a Democrat, and although I'd like to say "yes," I think it's more likely that it will take a few administrations (of both parties) to clean up the mess. Consider the loss to our national Treasury and deep divisions affecting America.

I hope the change of leadership in the house will spur changes toward healing America, but it's going to take a while.

No. The politicians that run this country will continue to run it in a way that favors their specific special interests. The actual interests may differ slightly between most party lines, but it will be "politics as usual", just under a new disguise for a while.

No, they are going to derail the nation.

Something that the media not not cover:
The terrorists are celebrating the defeat of Republicans in Congress and see the Democrat gains as a victory to them.

Yes ! Definitely yes!!

IF the Republicans in Senate and President do not behave like cry babies/children throwing tantrums because they cannot handle the heat they dished out to the Democrats - WHICH UNFORTUNATELY THEY HAVE ALREADY STARTED DOING !!! ( Come on Republicans in both houses grow up and do something good for a change for your Country - It is a REAL WORLD you are in now !!!

Bush has done so much damage, It's going to take year's of fixing to get things back to where we were under Clinton. If they ever are able to fix everything. Bush still has 2 more years to screw many more things up. It will be interesting to watch what happens in the next 2 years and beyond.

i'm not going to go to deeply into this answer since you probably have no idea what i would be talking about, but the answer is no. the country is going great right now. the economy is good, moral would be good if the liberals would put thier pride aside and do what they now is right. the media has got you and millions of others just baaaaahhing away.

Maybe we disagree on what the right "track" is. I don't think elimination of tax cuts, cutting military spending, and other democrat notions are good ideas at all. But that's what they do; they're Democrats, and they have power. It's looking pretty glum except for extreme liberals. If the taxes don't kill us the terrorists will.

It depends on what your definition of "on track" is - and what "track" you think is the right one. If you believe being on track means more involvement in your life by government (as in deciding what type of oil your food can be cooked in (NY) or what brand of coffee your cafe can sell (Berkley CA), then the Democrats will please you. If you believe higher taxes and more govermental re-distribution of wealth is the right track for our economy, then the Democrats will satisfy you. Excuse me, but I don't think that is the "right track" for the USA.
