how can i tell if my computer has infrared settings?

Most desktops don't come wth IR as standard but can easily be added by USB. Laptops on the other hand usually do have IR. To see if it's installed on your machine:
Right click > My Computer
Left click > Manage
Left click > Device Manager
Then look for an entry called 'Infrared Devices'
If you don't have any installed this entry won't be there.

go into your main control panel.or do a search.
