i'm looking for survey sites who actually pay for taking surveys. not signing up for their sponsors or offers.

I belong to Pinecone Research ( http://www.pineconeresearch.com ). I get a $5 check sent to me for EVERY survey I complete, no lie. The only way you can become a member, though, is to be invited by a current member. They also only take applications every so often...they haven't taken any new ones in a while so they are due to take some pretty soon.
