it really depends what you are looking for, i use ebay a lot for bigger things and i order them from america they may take a little longer to get here and cost more in postage but they still work out cheaper and the exchange rate is in our favour.
the best website i use is craftsulove they do allsorts at reasonable prices as does happystampers and the lady that runs it is really helpful. the best website for ideas and your local store finder is docrafts this isnt a website you can order from but it will tell you where your nearest store is which is really handy
hope this helps
ps argos also does a small range of card amking equipment at good prices and they even sell ready made kits

Invest in "Reader's Digest The Complete Greeting Card Set". This is a kit with two books, supplies and some tools and is available at Sam's Club, bookstores and craft stores. For a minimal investment you can get started right away and it will give you help deciding what further equipment you need. One thing you will need when you start is a bone folder for scoring cardstock and making smooth creases. Cardmaking is fun....good luck!

If you are specifically looking for websites, pick up a craft magazine in any newsagents. They always have a list of web addresses. I also use craftingdirect.com. Welcome to our world (it could get expensive, but enjoy!!)

You could try www.topazcrafts.co.uk. I believe a lady by the name of Dawn Bibby has a lot of creative designs on this site. She also appears on QVC from time to time.
