I mean we cant be honest to people because we might hurt their feelings, WTF. I am not going to lie to someone who asks me if they look fat, if they look fat I am going to tell them they do.

That's what I would want to hear if I asked! It's not mean, some people just can't handle the truth, even if they ask for it!

Being honest isn't considered being mean. Any intelligent person can find a way to tell someone that they look fat with the least amount of hurt feelings possible. However most people would rather take the lazy way and bluntly blurt out "...it's not the jeans that make you look fat all right? It's your actual fat." This doesn't make you any more or any less honest than the next person. This just makes you a cruel, insecure child. So perhaps when you're being accused of being mean, it's because you're BEING MEAN, and this is actually not a perceived misconception of your "honesty".

It doesnt mean good when you alway tell the truth . Depend on the situation. Like if someone in hospital gonna die and there is no way to cure it So if the Doctor should tells that person the lie thing so that person can continue live happily for the last time of thier life rather than tell the truth and make that person lose all soul. Telling the truth is good but depend on the situation...

Well the problem does not lie within honesty- it lies within how you word your "honest remarks". For instance someone could say do I look fat in this? you might say "yes, you look fat" or you could say " you know that isn't flattering to your figure"... Think about that... It is tact that these people who are so "honest" are lacking. Be honest, but also be respectful because lets face it, sometimes the truth hurts!

Because some people just say the meanest things possible and call it being honest. Being honest doesnt mean you have to say everything that comes to mind you can still be nice and be honest too.By the way Sway that black dress you are wearing in your picture makes you look a liitle fat.

It depends on how the other person is. I don't mind people being honest with me because i'm honest with other people. People who get their feelings hurt are very sensitive, don't like to know the truth or are afraid of the truth and their family and friends don't tell them the truth enough.

Well you should not be mean and be like, "God yes your fat" It kind of hurts peoples feelings! I would tell them if you think you are fat then workout and eat right! Don't be mean to people that are overweight, they are over weight probably cause emotional things. Don't make it worse for them!

You don't always have to be brutally honest, you could just step around the issue if you know you're going to hurt someone's feelings.

I fully agree. Ithink that even if the answer hurts their feelings now, they will apprechiate it later because you were honest with them. Think about it...all of your lives you were told don't lie. So why start lying now?
