Had to uninstall Norton Security during the week, following a problem with the computer.
Reinserted Norton disc.
It loaded up ok, but would not activate.
Am just left with an egg timer and cant click on activate, although it seems to be working for mail.
Norton site was no help.
Any suggestions?
Have already uninstalled and installed a few times to try to correct problem.
Also, what free security is best to use while Norton is out of action?
Windows Defender?

ck - yes, is genuine copy.
It costs 25 euro for technical info from Norton.
Not willing to pay that.
Was never asked for the key number - which I have - during installation.
Was asked for it when I installed months ago.
The key number is on the back of the envelope that the disc came in.

Have you also installed Internet Explorer 7 recently, the reason why I ask is that my husband had the same problem with Norton.
He ended up having to get help by BT taking over his laptop & uninstalling several programmes, then installing Mozilla Firefox.
A new pin number was then sent to his Norton & it eventually worked.
Apparently, IE7 is only in the testing stage & they told him to avoid intalling IE7 until it was fully functioning.
