I went to the store and got a live fuzzy for my cornsnake (they were out of frozen) and decided to get another live fuzzy to keep till next friday (since I'll be too busy all next week). The guy gave me some food for the little mouse(since we saw it nibbling on the food), and I am currently keeping it in a tupperware container with holes punched in the top. I shredded some paper for bedding and placed a bit of the food in the bottom, and also added a small cap with water in it. The mouse is currently crawling around in the container, nibbling on paper and seeds. Anything else I should be doing for it?

I'm not afraid to kill anything. I've watched dozens of live feedings before and have had to feed baby birds and such, so killing isn't a problem.

The real problem is, I've already grown attached. (I hate my motherly instincts.) The other baby mouse I threw right into the snakes cage, no problem, and had no bad feelings, but this one I've grown attached too. I've been thinking about him all day, so I really do want him to survive now. I might keep him as a pet.

Best thing is bread soaked in warm whole milk. when I lost one of my breading females 4 days after she had a litter that kept most of them alive to full grown, granted they wern't the healthiest.

Not to point out the obvious or anything, but why not freeze the mouse? Then there's no risk of the mouse escaping or growing too large for the snake. Mice mature very quickly and increase in size very fast.

We had a live mouse that the snake refuse to eat, so we just placed it in the freezer. The next week, we thawed it out and the snake was willing to eat again.

If you're squeamish about killing a mouse, then you chose the wrong pet. It's best not to keep a live mouse for too long or else you may grow attached.

Give it some fresh food and maybe a little bedding. Something instead of newspaper. Try something soft and comfertable. Otherwise, you are doing as good job. Good Luck.

I would dump out all the water. Then clean the ornaments and rocks- just in hot water. then let air dry. then set it up again and let it be just a day or so, then get more fish... acclimate them with gradual water mixtures and float the bag to acclimate the temperature. :-) just be sure to use the right aquarium drops in the water.
