a size six i wear an 8 in women's and a six in men's.

I would say 6, only because I wear a 9 in women's and I know that I am a 7 in men's!

Usually its a size down in mens. But it also depends on the make of the sneakers cause not all are the same so at most it would be a size and a half down. 7 -6.5 at most.
