Here it goes. Take a pen and stick in the place you would stick the ac plug(in the computer). Try to move it around. If it is loose, there is your problem. If not, take the ac adaptor to a computer repair shop or electrical store and have them check it. If your dc jack(where you plug the ac adaptor into the computer) is broke and under warranty, you are going to have to fight with Dell to get it fixed right. If it's not under warranty, then it will cost between $200 and up to get it fixed. Don't fall for the places that can fix it for $50. It takes about 2 or 3 hours to fix. The tech has take the laptop completely apart so I do not recommend doing it yourself.

I thought mine was the cord (year and a half old Inspiron). Well throwing $40 at a cord was useless. I had to finally take it to a repair shop and throw $40 at them. They couldnt help me and kept my money for the valuable information of who could help. I then resorted to "micro fix" which is a company who sauders things internally. That damage was $110. Someone in Pakistan (Dell customer support) said it was THE MOTHER BOARD! Bottom line: Never buy a DELL!

It could be the AC Adapter, or it could be the port on the laptop you plug it in to. If it's still under warranty, call Dell and get it fixed.

it truly is achievable if this has a skill pin that its loose so its preventing it from charging. If it truly is only a skill board pastime it will be basic sufficient to purchase it and replace it your self as those frequently are literally not a solder on pastime. inspite of the indisputable fact that if its equipped into the mobo then you truthfully are on borrowed time. in case you attempt any sort inner soldering you run the threat of frying something on the mobo. So listed right here are your concepts: if you're prepared to threat getting that mobo out and attempt to solder that skill pin into position then try it. do not, I repeat do no attempt to take this skill module out and put in a sparkling one because you may want to damage the board! You challenge is that the relationship to get juice to the unit is breaking down organic and straightforward. strong success.

It's probably just the cord. You should go to a computer repair place and see the problem and possibly buy a new one.

as I understand it, you will go to battery power, when the ac goes out. do some trial and error work. check cable tightness, inspect power plug, inspect wall plug, wiggle the power cable trom wall to the battery unit and see if any things works or stops working

i think you have to check that everything's in place first and that the electricity is fine before getting another adaptor or going to get your laptop checked .
