a wise woman once said "if you wake up every morning and think of writing, then you should be a writer."

well, if you wake up every morning and think of acting, then you should also think of acting in front of an audience.

im a theatre girl through and through, and ill tell you, you cant just become an actress.

thespians have their own "aura":

we're humble, but have an atitude
we're nice, but speak our minds
we're open to ideas, but we're stubborn

stage fright is hard, i know, but if you cant overcome it now, theres no hope for the future.

don't worry, its easy to act in front of an audience. you have to know though, even if you mess up, they think its funny.

one thing to remember: if you dont think its funny, an audience will find it HILARIOUS!!!

try your best. best of luck. hope i helped.

Nobody can give you self confidence, that has to come from you. If you have a dream, you should pursue it. Being an actress is hard work, it takes more dedication than confidence though. If you focus on doing the part as well as you can, and imerse yourself in the role, the audience will fade into the backround and cease to imapact you. As for your own self image, look at some of the ppl we have in Hollywood these days, Britney Spears and K-Fed? I'm sure you will find your way, if it's what you want go for it with your whole self, confidence will come on it's own when you become comfortable in yourself as an actress. You sound like someone who needs to achieve success before you can believe in yourself. Visit this webpage, http://www.squidoo.com/mishmoshbgosh/ and good luck!

I'll be blunt. You're not going to be a famous actress. The odds are terribly stacked against you. Go get lunch in LA, and you will meet more than one actress/waitress who wants to be the next star. To be honest, your odds are even worse. Now that Sandra Bullock is a star, she can be picky about what she does. An actor who has not made it big takes any and every possible role, hoping to get noticed. If that means singing on a cat food commericial, you do it. Only being in one show is not a good start. A few famous actors make big money, but the rest can't even support themselves with acting. Are you going to be the one in a million who hits it big? Probably not. If you go the medical track, you can make a good living. Even if you can't quite make it into medical school, you can go to PA school or NP school or get your MSN, and you will make a good living.

Sweetie-

If you really want to act (as opposed to wanting attention) then get out of your head. Stop thinking about it and yourself so much and go and do it. Take classes, audition, learn the craft and work. Keep busy.

BUT if its the dream of having people look at you and give you attention then slow it down. Do you want to be famous and be validated and have it all make you feel good? Or do you want to be an artist and create and impact on people? Decide which, be honest with yourself. And if you want to, have to, be an artist -- then DO it. Don't talk - DO.

Good luck!
