If you have a new Dell or HP computer you may have noticed that the computer may appear to have 2 drives. Actually though its one drive with 2 partitions. This partition or hidden drive which can be seen by right clicking on the My Computer icon then choosing Manage will bring up a window called Computer Management. In this window you can defragment your drives and also perform other tasks as well. Be advised though if you do not know what you are doing do not go into this utility and start changing a bunch of things or you will be sorry. Anyhow one of the choices is Disk Management, this will show you how many partitions you have along with how many physical drives you have. So if you have a hidden drive this will show you it. The extra partition that shows up on Dell and HP computers is used to reinstall your OS to factory defaults and can not be change. So you can't accidentally reformat that partition. So to answer your question no not everyone has 2 hard drives.

A computer can have 2 disk drives installed. If that's the case, one is the primary disk, the other is the secondary disk. You can disable the secondary disk in the bios setting (when your machine starts up there will be a message tell you how to enter the bios set up) and it will be hidden.

nope, most computers only come with one hard drive
sometimes one floppy drive and normaly one cd / dvd drive and usb ports which can be used to attach further similar devices and internal slots on the motherboard for additional drives.
Hard drives can be partitioned and the contents hidden by clicking through the properties options

Your single harddisk is partitioned into C: and D: it somewhat is in many situations performed for a style of motives, regardless of the undeniable fact that it somewhat is nicely prevalent that domicile windows data standardly exist on the C: stress. this won't result your skill to place in progs or use the workstation properly.
