Shouldn't the raiders trade that pick for some quality players?
Example:
raiders 1st pick for
a good o-line player or a starting RB along with the late 1st rounder
(they could maybe have a troy smith, jamarcus russell, or brian brohm drop late)

I was thinking that same thing. There is a definite need for the Raiders to grab as many picks as they can to bolster their lackluster season. But I do believe they will probably use that pick and pick the best qb available and if necessary trade Randy Moss to try to get more picks.

It's too soon to tell but I have to go with Jamarcus Russell the 6'6" 255 pound beast. Lane Kiffin the Oakland Raiders coach, said that he wants a powerful, explosive offense. I don't know what kind of offense he will put in but explosive and powerful may mean throwing the long ball. With weapons like Randy Moss and Jerry Porter considering they stay, Jamarcus Russell would be a better fit for this offense. Brady Quinn is a great player no doubt but after a mediocre showing in the Sugar Bowl and his withdrawal from the Senior Bowl, he's been slipping. He gotta show what he can do in the NFL Combine and the pro workouts. If Moss is gone though it might trigger a Calvin Johnson pick but as of now I gotta go with Russell.

i think the raiders would be smart to trade down at least a couple of times in the first round and acquire as many draft picks as possible so that they can draft a whole bunch of young players and give them some more youth on their team as they are a team with alot of old players

The Raiders will not trade their first pick. They will draft Troy Smith, the team needs a solid quarterback, and few believe Andrew Walter can develope into a winning quarterback. Troy Smith is a proven winner and a perfect fit into their franchise.

Either take Adrian Peterson, or trade down to get some more picks and go after offensive linemen.
