My son had that problem when he was a baby. He always had gas that he couldn't get out. My doctor told me to give him mylicon drops. These worked really well. Try feeding your baby sitting up. Lying down causes gas. Also, it may take a while longer to burp your baby, but make sure you do it after your baby eats. Do it until he/she burps. Don't give your baby Karo syrup. That's not good for them.
Another thing you can do is use the Avent bottles or the bottles with a liner where you can push the air out. Less air means less gas. Talk to your doctor about your formula. This may also be the cause of your baby's gas. It is always best to breastfeed your baby. Talk to your doctor and see what else he suggests.
My mother in law also told me to boil a little Comino seeds (a spice) in some water. You take the juice it makes and cool it down and add like a 1/2 spoonful of water and mix in a bottle. Something in that makes the baby burp. It really works and is not harmful.
Good luck!

Everything they said will help, but the thing you need to know the most is that the formula may be causing the gas and the type bottle that you are using. Use bottles that have that vent air system and ask the doctor about a new baby formula. Karo syrup is for constipation, so if your baby is pooping I would not give your baby that. The rest everyone said is fine and all of them work well.

Mylicon drops are over the counter - give one dropperful up to three times a day with feedings.

As for bottles - make sure the opening in the nipple isn't too big or too small. Too big, they eat too fast, too small, and they have to suck so hard they swallow a ton of air. Try burping more frequently (like every ounce or two) also.

Milicon is excellent with gas and you can give it to your baby as needed. Also, I use Avent bottles for my daughter because they are the best for reducing colic. They are expensive but they are definitley worth it!!!!!!! Another thing you can try is to lay your baby on her back and push her legs against her stomach to apply pressure and she should pass gas easier. Also lay her on her stomach across one of your legs and rub/pat her back and that should be helpful also. Good Luck with everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gripe water is quite old fashioned but it really worked for mine - just dip the baby's dummy in it.

Colic is the worse thing ever, nothing is quite as wretched as to have a very, very unhappy baby and being unable to do something about it!

We also found that taking baby for a drive in the car seemed to help incredibly... can't figure out why, but it always settled her down.

As a parent, I guess you try everything, just to stop their pain.

Position the baby on her tummy with her knees up under belly. This will cause her bottom to be up in the air, helping her pass the gas. Chamomile tea is also good for gas. I used it for my 3 children when they were babies all the time. In addition, they do make special bottles for colicky babies, but they seem like they have to really suck on them to get anything out of them. Check with your pediatrician as he/she might also be able to prescribe something for the baby.

There is this stuff called 'Peppermint Spirit'. It works wonders. When I was a small child my mother used it on me & my sister-in-law used it with her daughter & I have a couple bottles of it to use with my son when he finally decides to come out. It is kinda hard to find though. The oil is not the same so be careful when you buy it. Good luck!

Gripe Water is the best way to go. Also, try burping your baby more and feeding your baby sitting up.
