The meaning of the above quote is that there is no such thing as pure 'luck'. YOU are the one that keeps a watchful eye out for the dimes you end up finding. If you never looked for them, you would not be finding them.

As an example, it's like when you buy a certain type of car and then afterwards notice it everywhere you go. If you "keep finding" something it is because you are looking for it.

I don't know about the luck thing but I've heard many times that your loved ones that has passed over will drop coins in hopes to to get your attention and let you know they are happy, well, and still around you, even in death.
