It depends on the model of your ipod on how easy this will be. New ipods do not allow you to transfer songs from the ipod to a computer, however there are ways around this. first off you can download a program called copypod (link below) and this will allow for the transfer. But if you still have your old HardDrive there is another step we can take. If you call a tech company, i.e. Geek Squad, then they can recover all lost data on the harddrive. this would be the perfered method if there is other data that you may want from the old comp. hope this helps.

The easiest way would be to just use a program like this one shown here:
http://www.copypod.net/

You can do it manually, however, if you want to. First set Windows to show "hidden files and folders", then hook up the iPod to your computer. Go to "My Computer" and open up the drive that is your iPod drive. Select all the files and folders and drag them to the new computer. Now you're done.

Note: You must set Windows to "show hidden files and folders" because Apple makes the iTunes database file a hidden file.

Anything on your IPod is not lost. Just install ITunes on a new computer and it will download whatever you have on your Ipod.
