The pains that you are feeling are true labour pains, I am 38 weeks and am 3-4 cm dilated and am having the same pains as you. Those period cramps are labour, and they will stay until they get stronger. My water has not broken yet, but have really strong labour pains too. Does your doctor know that your water has broken? If not you should go to the hospital cause a dry birth can be really tough. When was the last time that you were checked? If I was you I would go to the hospital, better safe than sorry. The safest way to get your contractions to come on stronger is to go for walks. I know your back hurts and you have lots of pressure, but that is the best way. But don't go too far from home and not alone. If you don't want to go out climb your stairs. The other way is to stand in the shower with the water running over your belly. My cousin went from 1 to 10 cm in an hour just my doing that. Anyhow good luck and hope you have a speedy labour.

I knew I was going to be late, but I thought I would be later than I was. I was only 6 days past my due date, and feeling like I was going to be pregnant forever. I had a few very subtle pre-labor symptoms in the preceding days, but nothing earth shattering. That's why I was pretty surprised when I woke up at 4:30 AM the day before my scheduled induction with REAL contractions coming every 2 minutes.... Best of luck, and all I can say is - there will be no mistake! You'll know it when it happens, early, late, or right on time!

I'm 38 weeks and have no signs of labor. Your pain indicates that it is labor. Every pregnancy and labor is different and this time around it seems like you are having a tough labor. Your pain will get worse but hopefully you will soon be admitted into the hospital and you will have pain relief options. I don't know if this works but my sister with every labor took chamomile tea with honey and she said it helped her relax and go into labor. The more tense you are the more your muscles will not open up. Good luck your almost there.
