Does anyone else find it ironic that in my town, right next to a counseling center for the depressed and the alchoholics and such, there is a row of about three bars?

Definitely. It proves the owners of the bars couldn't care less about what they are doing to people... And neither do the authorities, if they allowed that.

I believe the town put either the bars or the counseling center next to each other on purpose. I could only imagine this answer because this does sound ironic but if you conteplate it makes sence. They chose the location to test the patients.Maybe to see if they recovered or not.Probably the owner and the cashier knows the patients very well and will report to the counseling center.

Could be zoning laws. Ironically, it may be the best place for such an establishment.

Businesses open up next to places where the vulnerable are to get more revenue. Greed takes place over conscience.
