I believe it is the evidence of things not seen. Basically it's believing in something or someone that you can't see. or another example would be if someone says says i'm going to your party on friday it is by faith that they are coming becuase something can easily happen.

Faith is trust... often trust in an intangible.

Ever met someone that you trusted right off the bat? Well, most would say that you giving trust to a stranger would be based on an intangible... something that we cannot define. However, that trust is often based upon solid information... we are simply not aware of the steps our brain goes through to process that person. Maybe they have really good body language, or they listen intently, or their smile is quick and genuine.

We trust based upon the summation of all our life experience which is run through our brains at warp speed.

If you look at it that way, faith really isn't such an abstract concept. It is based on what we already know and admire.

faith in the meaning of belief is the ignorance of the reality or truth. If you know the truth of it there need not be a faith(belief), for you know it.
