You'd think there would be some sort of screening policy, especially since the purpose of this website is to provide answers and help solve problems. Therefore, why are there so many retards at this site? The questions and answers are riddle with spelling and grammatical errors, run on sentences, abbreviated words (u instead of you, etc.) Most of these answers appear to have been typed by fourth grade girls. I posted a few questions and the answers I received were laughable, and if you don't believe me just look around for two or three minutes, it's hard to miss.

i know look at the answers you're getting. a bunch of low lives that don't know how to spend their time, and tell you shut up or get used to it, but im sure that people have told them that so they should not be complaining
i only come on here when i check my email, but these people are on 24/7...

i gave up asking questions because soo many idiots yell and tell me how bad of a person i am and they think that reporting me and giving me a bad rating will change their miserable lives. the other thing is that they fight over best answer like a bunch of dogs for some food, they need to grow up or just go back to their toys and away from answers, which is not a message board/chat site but is intended for people that want answers, not opinions

I think we're on our own, nj. There are just too many questions and answers to screen by the Yahoo staff. We do have the reporting available and I use it sometimes, especially if there are really flagrant violations. It will never be a good useful forum here if we don't police ourselves and discourage the trolls from continuing to make up useless and insulting questions and answers. I also agree that with a spell checker available right on the page there is no reason to have misspellings although there isn't much to be done about the grammar and sentence structure (or lack thereof). So if we want Yahoo Answers to work and work well we are going to have to make it happen ourselves.

Wow....... I shouldn't have read all these answers.....

It's amazing how pissy people get about all of this. Okay, so first of all, I do agree with you in that there are a lot of stupid people here (ever been in polls and surveys? ugh!). I don't think everyone else who answered you needed to be so self-righteous and smug in their answer, but you were that way in your question, so I guess that's just how it goes.

There is no way that Yahoo could possibly screen all of it's users, that's why there is a reporting feature and community guidelines.

I can certainly understand your frustration with some of the people on this site. When you ask a serious question, you want a serious answer, but often that isn't how it works.

So I know you aren't going to like my conclusion, but here it is: either get used to it, or go elsewhere, because you can't change the people around you.

Oh my god, get over yourself! Besides, fourth grade girls have the right to use yahoo answers too, as retards, as anyone else.

Besides, yahoo answers is used by people all over the world, so you can't expect a perfect english from everyone. The level of english many foreigners show here is quite impressive actually.
And who do you think you are? Someone special that is above others? Some people are stupid and others not? And you are part of the chosen ones? Do me a favor and get off that cloud.

English is the second or third language for many who respond here. So, I can excuse them. The rest are high school drop outs who have nothing better to do than post absurd and immature questions . There's also the teens with their typical pregnancy and relationship problems. Yawn.
I agree.... there should be a screening process. Yahoo should be a better watch dog.

Yea, that feature seems a bit wonky today. It keeps telling me Whoa! 12 points, which I earned hours ago.

Its a democracy on Answers. Yahoo doesn't promise anything when it comes to the answers.

I assume there are a lot on here because there are a lot "out there".

Just a note, though: A couple of errors in your grammar.....

1. "....answers are RIDDLED with spelling....."

2. "run-on sentences"

3. "fourth-grade girls."

4. I'm not sure sentences should be begun with "therefore", but maybe I'm incorrect about that.

5. Your last sentence was run on without the correct punctuation.

It would have been better if you had structured it as follows:

"I posted a few questions, and the answers I received were laughable. If you don't believe me just look around for two or three minutes - it is hard to miss."

or

"I posted a few questions, and the answers I received were laughable; if you don't believe me just look around for for two or three minutes. It is hard to miss."

Finally, another note: I know what you mean when you refer to fourth-grade girls, but it is somewhat sexist of you to overlook the silliness of fourth-grade, fifth-grade, sixth-grade, seventh-grade, and up boys. You choice to refer specifically to "girls" rather than "silly adolescents" or "dumb adolescents" kind of gives off a hint of contempt toward little girls specifically (and that is kind of not necessary).

Not everyone in this world is well educated and it has become common practice for those in the younger generations to use abbreviated words. Maybe they don't like to type? I know a lot of them cannot write legibly anymore because all the schools are going to computers. Children have lost the art of handwriting.

You ARE in the social science section. Come over to science and math, if you want more precision. Even if spelling and grammar are perfect on this site, you have to consider the inanity of some of the questions and answers.
