I saved a very very important document onto my floppy and I tranfered to a another computer and I says that I need to format the floppy. If I format my floopy will I lose any information. If I lose it I am seriously not graduating. What should I do.

It sounds like the floppy disk has been corrupted in some way.

Definately do not format it if you want to have any chance of saving the data on it.

You may beable to use this software to save your disk.

Take it back to the original computer and try to access it again. If it still says to format it, try running a chkdsk on it (go to Start then Run and type cmd and click OK, then type chkdsk a: and press enter). See if that helps. You might need to copy it to another floppy disk.

1. Insert the disk
2. Click Start
3. Click Run
4. Type

cmd

5. press enter
6. type

chkdsk /F a:

7. If the disk still cannot be read the floppy disk drive may be faulty.

yes.

if possible try to open your floopy in another computer.
if not scandisk your floopy
You may get your document from the computer's harddisk which you saved in it.
