Good question. "They" say we dream in black and white, but I often dream in colour. My personal belief is that it depends on the type of dream. My prophetic and message dreams are in color and the ordinary(?) are b/w. So, if you dream in colour- that's how you dream. Either way is acceptable. Dream on my friend. God bless.

Color. I always experience my dreams in the first person -- that is, I experience dreams as though they were waking reality. Some of the events, now, are different from waking reality (though there are a couple of dreams I can remember that I WISHED would happen in waking reality! :-), but I experience them as though they were happening to me, through my senses.
I have always wondered whether anybody ever asked this question before the invention of black-and-white photography, and in particular, television. I also note that the question doesn't come up nearly as much now that all TV is broadcast in color.

I usually dream in full color, just like I'm awake, but sometimes I have very surreal dreams that occur in black & white.

It always comes in colors, you could say. If you really look inside you, you would probably see a blob of colors. The way you get dreams out of that blob of colors is you 'paint a picture'. If you think REALLY REALLY hard, you will get a colorful dream.

I think it depends on the person. I always dream in color with a lot of detail. I have talked to other people who don't dream in color nor do they have a lot of detail.

'The more aware we are of colours in our lives, the more we are likely to dream in colour'
Dreams come in all sorts of colours, sometimes the colours can be very vivid or unnatural in its context. Sometimes a certain colour is symbolic to the dreamer. Some dreams come in Technicolour, some all in one colour, some in dull colours and some in black and white.
Some people believe the colours or lack of reflect our emotions, or spirituality, or that certain colours in our dreams mean different things.
Therefore the answer to your question is that we can all dream in colours or black and white, or even in just one solitary colour.

I've dreamed both in colour and in black and white. And ironically, the second languages that I struggle to speak in my walking hours I often speak fluently in my dreams.
I think the presence or absence of colour varies depending on the person.
