Is your baby taking cereal from a spoon yet? Once baby has had cereal on a spoon successfully for about a month (give or take) it's fine to go ahead and start with jarred veggies and fruits. (Anytime around 4 months is generally considered the norm)

You should start with veggies first (I would recommend starting green since the orange ones are sweeter and you want baby to accept them all) and introduce one about every 3 days to allow time to watch for an allergy.

I started my little girl on rice cereal at 3 months and got the OK from the Dr. to start on veggies and fruits at her 4 month check up.

Best of luck :)

Nursing would have been the best thing as some babies never do well with anything you give them until their stomachs are more developed.

I would still stick to the formulas. Cereals, etc. will constipate baby as their systems aren't quite ready for the food, but I would wait a few more months still. When you do introduce foods make sure they are organically grown as the pesticides used on fruits and veggies can lead to food allergies later on.

I'm surprised the baby has been able to tolerate rice cereal from birth like that.

I have never heard of a baby ever having "reflux". All babies spit up and regurgitate. My daughter use to spit half way across the room after nursing (it was called projectile something or other) and although it seemed worrisome to me it didn't bother her at all and she just outgrew it.

If that's what you mean about reflux then probably you overfed the baby, and if it came up, it was just that she was burping and had too much food and spit it up.

Does the baby poo ok or is she constipated? Some times that can cause colic in a baby too (too much gas that doesn't move properly and it's painful) and you just have to wait for them to outgrow that phase.

You should always start babies on veggies first or they will never eat it if you start them on fruit..I would wait till closer to 6 months..maybe try a few spoons daily in the 5th month. Make your own, mush it and add water to keep it runny...no chunks whatsoever if you make your own.

You could try real bland baby food now, but I wouldn't expect that your baby will be ready to spoon feed for a couple more months, around 6 months or so. Good luck
