Maintosh products use MAC OSX. This is a very different environment than Windows XP. Although Apple has a feature called Boot Camp you would need to purchase a full version of Windows XP in order to use the feature in addition to knowing how to set it up.

The iBook is a good product. It just offers less performance than the MacBook Pro.

Most end users who are angry with their computers simply do not understand why the computer is problematic and seek out an alternate route. There are about 1000 reasons why a laptop may not perform properly.

Although Apple makes good products I have to caution you that there is a learning curve and you may not be able to find identical applications for a MAC as you would for a PC.

I would list out each reason why you are unhappy with your Dell laptop and post another question on Yahoo Answers with that information.

It depends on what you hate about your dell laptop. The mac is a quality product, but there are far fewer software titles available for it, and there is a bit of a learning curve, still--some people swear by them.

I've used PC's and Macs my entire life (I even worked for Eastman Kodak doing warranty repair for Macs in the field). Most design studios use Macs, as do quite a few recording studios. I own a Mac g3 that I got from some guy who bought a bunch of stuff from his office when it shut down, but I mostly just use it as a jukebox.

If you are just using your laptop for internet and word processing, music, pics, and video, then you probably wouldn't have a problem switching to the mac - but you are going to be spending a bit of money regardless, and most laptops are overpriced toys rather than serious computers.

Pretty good.but, not as good as a MacBook(it's replacement)with a Core2Duo processor. You can run windows if you need to on a Intel "chipped" Mac.
