There is a business in my community that has been denied a liquor license twice because of the business that was there before them had alot of trouble with police being called. It was a club. This is a club too. This new business has decided that since they were not granted a liquor license only because of the history of another business...they would approach it in another way....they now have a BYOB. You are able to take your own alochol into this establishment and the only way that the police can enter is if they have reason to believe that something illegal is going on. IF they had a liquor license then police could enter anytime!! DID THE GOVERNMENT "cut off their noses to spite their face"? In other words...were they punishing this new business because the police didn't want to have to do their jobs? Does it make sense for people to be able to take their own alcohol into this place? Is this not asking for trouble?

It does sound like an odd ruling for the liquor board to make. (They can rule to only allow beer and wine to be served, but flat out denial seems peculiar) I would suggest contacting the BIA (business association) in that community and ask for more information or for their assistance in promoting this business' survival by appealing the rejecting of the liquor board applicaiton

The business is asking for trouble. The police can "suspect" trouble at any time, including observing patrons who appear to be underage entering the building. IF that happens ANY adult in the club can be arrested and prosecuted for contributing to the deliquiency of a minor, including the business owners. I doubt the legality of denying the license based on a previous owner unless that person is still partial owner etc.

If you are paying for the food and liquor why would she pay another $100.00? That sounds ridiculous to me. And Why does it cost $75.00 to walk chilren in a stroller? I'm sure they have cost that were not explained in the question but that sounds a little steep-I could probably take all of the kids in a stroller and hire someone to help me push the strollers for less then $75.00 a week?

not in my opinion.
The club makes alot of revenue by selling overpriced liquor.
They may not be able to stay in business very long with out that huge source of income
(it just sounds like a nice way to run them out of town)

Well the city has the right to do this, it may be that this place has a history of such activity thru several owners.
