They are always happy to hear from me when I call but they never initiate anything on their own. I know they are busy since their children are small and my child is almost a grown up but it seems to me that we make time for things (or people) that are important to us.

Agree or Disagree?

WOW, You made me stop and think. I am like the friends that you describe. I don't have little ones the one st home is 16, but she is alot of work and I have 2 grand kids. I love it when my friends call , but at the same time I can't wait to get off the phone. When I was younger and didn't work I could stay on the phone for hours with my friends and I would go do things with them. Now I'm older and I work full time plus a lot of overtime. The time that I do have i like to do the things that i need to do in my house and visit with my husband and daughter. And I like to see my oldest daughter and grand kids. I guess I am guilty of the same things. I will have to work on that. I don't know if i helped you but you helped me. Thanks

just try not calling them for like a mth and see what happens...maybe they are busy....friendship like marriage isn't 50% 50 % it's just do what it takes from the heart to make it work...but if you feel that you are doing too much...or that person is taking you for granted it's time for a heart to heart talk..it's not easy to feel ignored or unimportatnt r just plain taken for a ride all the time...it hurts ...so it's not healthy - let them know and then move on if the person dosnt change....ppl change...some improve some just go downhill...it's up to so to help set them straight but we can force it
