i have 900 tunes, just bought externel hard drive and want to put all media files on there but if i do this i need to tell itunes where the new location is for every tune and it takes forever - any ideas on short cuts to perform this function guys?

highlight EVERYTHING. Then just right click one of them and click "Open With iTunes." That would be the easiest way to go brother.

go to file > add folder of your new folder, it will add the songs once moved, and then you can delete the ones from itunes by selecting delete missing media (not on my laptop so dont know for sure)

if you can see all your music files,scroll to bottom of the list,then move the pointer to the bottom right corner,then hold down left mouse button move to left corner then go to top of the page the list should scroll itself keeping the pointer at the very top,when reached the first track,right click and send them to where you want,

you could create a folder and place all of the songs there then in iTunes import the folder so all of the songs can come in together.
