There are two different things: there is the thing that happens to you, and then there is the attitude you have toward it. If you make this into a horrible thing from which you will never recover, then you will never recover. You have the choice in how you view it, but you have to see it as a choice.

Did he have a court order in which he was allowed to take your daughter? I know my husband (has twin girls from a previous marriage) misses his daughters always. His ex took them to California when he was stationed in Illinois (he's in the military) and there wasn't much he could do at the time because she filed for divorce there. He married me a couple years later and we have a 12 year old and 6 year old and have been stationed overseas and all over the US. She makes it VERY difficult every time he makes plans to see his daughters or even tries to call and they are 15. HE even sent them cell phones for their b-day last year and to pay for them, but to no success. We have been in and out of court, but when we don't live in the same state its difficult. I wish there was a cure all pill for heartbrokeness, but stick at it and try your best. CHerish the time you have with her.

This seems normal for what happened to you. I would suggest seeking counseling to help you through. Losing a child or having one taken away at such an early age would definatley make you feel like something is missing

This sounds very unusual, usually the mother gets custody. I guess its been too long now to apply for custody. Did you do something wrong?
I think try and be grateful for the fact that you do see her sometimes and make sure she knows you love her.
I hope you manage to find someone else and start a family with him.
They say time heals... not sure xx

Why did he take the baby away? Was it for the best interest in the baby? If not, then why have you not persued getting her back? I doubt you will ever feel better. I could not imagine something like that happening!

It's very rare that the courts would allow such a thing. You were probably smoking crack or doing something illegal. If that's the case then you made your choice, live with it.
