Can someone please explain to me why Art Monk is not in the Hall of Fame yet?? Untill Jerry came along this guy was the best there ever was, granted Jerry is much better but Monk is a huge snub and deserves to be in already, why the hold up?

Probably has something to do with "flash." Monk was just a damn good player who kept his mouth shut and his name off the police blotter. He belongs in the Hall, as does Irving Fryar, who turned his career around after age 30.
Monk's career numbers 940 catches for 12,721 yards and 68 Tds are very good for the era in which he played (and are very similar to Fryar's). He had 5 1,000 yard seasons and for many years was the single-season record-holder for catches in a season with 106.
Monk was not fast, but big and physical with great hands. He was always the Redskins best WR, and played in 3 Super Bowls.
Art Monk, Irving Fryar and Harold Carmichael all belong in the Hall.

There are some hidden biases amongst voters that has not surfaced regarding why they don't want him in the Hall of Fame.
It has painted a very ugly picture on the surface of football. Fans are furious, confused, and demanding a definitive answer to the reason or reasons he's being kept out. As of today there are none.

I had no idea he's not in the Hall. I don't know his career numbers, but he was an excellent WR and played a LONG time in the league.

There's no good reason why. Art should be in the Hall, much more than Irving Fryar.
