My grandfather died a couple of years ago and my father told me that he had a will and that my father was the executor of it. My father passed away, but before he did he said that i will be getting all of my gradfathers property to include money. I have not heard anything about it and i just discovered that my step grandmother had just sold the house which i thought was going to be mine. I know that my father took my ssn# for two different will and i never received a call for it. What steps could be done and if so what do i need to do?

You need to see a lawyer ASAP

If your g/f and his wife held title as joint tenants with right of survivorship then it passed to his wife at the moment of his death. It would have been part of the estate for computing any estate taxes, but could NOT be given to anyone through the will. You can check how the title was held at the local deed registrar's office.

The local family court will also have a record of the probate.

get a copy of your grandfather's will at probate court so you can see what your father was telling you.

your step-grandmother could have made a quit claim deed to try to hide any interest that your might have inherited.

the will will answer your questions
