I was standing on the curbside watching the motorcade pass by only a foot or two in front of me approximately 10 minutes before he got shot. I think it was on Lemmon Avenue, but it's been so long I'm not for sure. Jackie's bright pink dress and pillbox hat stood out against her husband's and Texas Governor John Connally's dark suits. When we got back to our school playground we heard kennedy got shot and my first reaction, being in Texas maybe, was, oh well, he got shot in the arm and all's well. I was 12 years old at the time. I remember realizing not long afterwards that, no, he was not shot in the arm but had his head blown off, and so we had no more classes for the rest of the day as our 7th grade class went across the hall to the 8th grade classroom to watch all the media hype about it all. It was an interesting day in that history was being made. Being Roman Catholic myself, and attending a Catholic gradeschool, and kennedy being Catholic, our day was a bit "undone" by it all. I saved the copies of the HUGE headlined "Dallas Times Herald" and "Dallas Morning News" from those days, and "Life" magazine. I've since lost one of the newspapers, but, the memories are still there. I held painful memories of it all for years, decades even, till I met a woman from Maryland who told of another side of the whole kennedy family, and after some debate and discussion, I lost all respect for former President Kennedy and his family, and have been trying to get it back over the past 20 years, without much luck. But, I do vividly remember that day. God Bless you.

JFK Sr. was asassinated, a very dark day in history, one I'd like to know the truth about, that day and the days to follow. God Bless you, Randy D, that must have been tramatic to witness at such a young age, you at least had your faith to help you.
