Well , a lunatic could be many things . For an example , a lunatic could possibly be a man / woman who was driven insain
by peer-presier or maby even stress . When said person goes insain , he / she may be a threat to the sociaty and peers around
said lunatic . So , by sociaty's point of view , the man / woman is
concidered a lunati .
But , you can also define lunatic in many other ways . For example , a lunatic could just be a man / woman bent on some obsession and will maby even KILL for the beloved item he / she
loves (perhaps gold , Money , or matireal possetions ) or even kill herself / himself to get a larger sum of a presius item
( Rubys , Saphires and maby even Jades ) , hence we return back to deffenition one .
So , thats my deffenition , I hope you got the answer !

An honest to goodness lunatic probably is running his life style with the phases of the moon. He is at his looniest when the moon is the fullest. Just listen to the police scanner and then stick your head out the door and look up at the sky. Better yet, take an ailing grandchild to the emergency room and watch the parade of loons come in as the moon comes out when it is a full one! They probably can not help it.
I just take the remote, video games ,and sugar food away from my loon (ha!) until the moon shrinks back down!

A lunatic (colloquially: "loony") is commonly used term for a person who is mentally ill, dangerous, foolish or unpredictable, a condition once called lunacy.
The word is borrowed via French from Latin "lunaticus", which gains its stem from "luna" for moon, which denotes the traditional link made in folklore between madness and the phases of the moon. This probably refers to the symptoms of cyclic mood disorders such as bipolar disorder or cyclothymia, the symptoms of which may also go through phases. As yet there is little evidence for any causal link between phases of the moon and the progression of mood disorder symptoms.
In Russian, a lunatic refers to a sleepwalker, literally "one who walks under the moon" or "moonwalker".
