I don't know, perhaps to fit into bikini briefs? Perhaps because some celebrity did and it has become fashionable? Perhaps because they have some notion that it is more hygienic? Could it be that they think more men find it attractive that way? Is it that they wish to recapture an idea of their youth? Or is it as a favour to those who perform oral upon them - that they should not get hair between their teeth?
It may be one, some or all of these for some people and none of these for others.

My opinion is that shaved or trimmed keeps you feeling fresher even though I personally do take baths daily. And since I've done this recently (maybe a year or so) it feels so much better trimmed than with a bush. Also especially living in a hotter environment, I tend to find it a lot cooler down there. And personally I wouldn't want to go through a full BUSH to get to the puddin'. :)

I have shaved mine or had it waxed since I was 14. I love the feeling of the wax being applied there. My girlfriends love the fact that I have a Captain Picard. They spend lots of time there!

Honestly I don't understand it. I think it has something to do with the idea that males are more interested in prepubescent girls and if a female shaves that area it looks more childlike.
If females bothered to think about it, it's only encouraging paedophilia and is actually quite rediculous.
All adult humans have pubic hair, it's there for a reason!
And this silly notion that it keeps one "fresh" is also stupid, basic hygene and daily cleaning routines keep you just as "fresh."
Try bathing once in a while!

Porn. Porn is everywhere today and everybody watches it. It's like when Jennefer Aniston cut her hair, girls all over the country had to have the same haircut. People are sheep! Please girls......it is there for a reason, and I love a big hairy bush.

i dont know but i always have. since i was 15. i think it looks better. and is more convenient. and my girl has to shave or im not going there.
