Unless you have serious mental problems I don't see a problem playing them. I was a goth in school and I played violent games and never hurt anyone. If it is Satan's playground then ... play on baby!!!

Violent video games cannot really be considered either. I don't think playing a violent video game can raelly be an outlet for aggression...sometimes they are so frustrating they make me ANGRIER! It's really just a hobby and entertainment.

It is certainly not a playground for satan, whereby your probably mean that it is fostering the agression or at least violent tendencies. This cannot be true either. There is an appropriate age for these games, and it is not in a child's formative years. It has to be when they are able to comprehend the cartoon or comic violence in the games, much like when they are able to comprehend the violence of a cartoon or power ranger-type show. This, of course, is relative. Humans mature at a completely different rate, and it is up to the parents to decide when their child is ready to play a violence-based game.

Neither. If a child has aggressive tendencies, I doubt a video game will help alleviate them. Maybe a punching bag or karate classes or something would be better for that. However, to blame video games for every problem that a kid has is just stupid. It is a parent's job to teach a child the difference between fantasy and reality. There is no reason in the world why a violent video game should cause a kid to go shoot up his school. That having been said, those games are not entirely appropriate for just anyone. Small children may be scared by them. But for older kids, I don't believe it can help or harm them as long as the parents are doing their job.

It depends. Are we talking about a seven year old being socialized by the game or an adult? If a seven year old plays a very violent game in a room with the volume on high, three of the five senses are involved, factor in the body will react as if it is really happening even if the mind says it's just a game. Now take that seven year old year after year with exposure to the same types of games, how will he react when someone bumps his car at sixteen? Will his automatic response be to hop out and beat the **** out of the other driver. Parents really need to read the video game rating system before using the game system as a video baby sitter for the younger kids.

Neither. Violent sports have been around a lot longer that video games and no one ever asked about them. Both games and sports promote competition, analytical skills and hand to eye coordination with no ties to Beast. People used to say the same things about heavy metal and Dungeons and Dragons. As far as I remember there have been no mass suicides or outbreaks of satanic worship because of it.

What video games are doing to us is making us all couch potatoes and fat. Everyone should consider once in a while gabbing a ball or a Frisbee instead of a controller and going outside.

I think it is neither. Video games will not help calm a violent kid down, but they are not the reason some kids are psychotically violent. That is more their problems and even without videogames they still would be. If you do play violent games the kids with common sense would know not to go outside and start shooting people.

I played cowboys and indians as a kid and guess what? I don't shoot people in real life and I'm not racist against indians.

Isn't it odd that child crime is higher now, in the times of overprotective parents that won't let children play with slingshots, bb guns and lawn darts?
