My daughter is 7 months, and I'm still using a breast feeding pillow by "Jolly Jumper", and my daughter is in the 75th percentile for weight & height, so she's not tiny. I absolutely love it. It makes breast feeding so easy... any time, any place! Enjoy your pregnancy :)

I nursed my daughter for a full year, I just used a regular (small square) pillow. The boppy was too stuffed for me and even from the beginning put her up too high. I found the best position for nursing was to sit up straight and put my feet up on something to raise my knees (I have a glider with an ottoman and pull out nursing stool from Dutalier which I love.) I did keep the Boppy and do use it for other things, as other people have mentioned. But, if you're on a tight budget, you really don't need anything special...

I have the pillow by Leachco (same as Boppy) and loved it for the first few weeks but after getting more comfortable don't need it anymore. In a pinch a couch pillow or (in the car one time) I used my rolled up hoodie just to get comfortable. But the pillow is still useful for other things. Was great between my knees when sleeping pregnant and postpartum and now for tummy time for baby.

I started out using the Boppy but switched to My Brest Friend. The MBF gives so much more support for my arms and back. With the Boppy, my baby was rolling one way or the other because it was too soft and rounded - and I kept having to pull it closer to me. It was a pain.
I do like the Boppy for sitting her up in, though. It is good as an infant support pillow.

I only know the Boppy pillow and I like it a lot and would recommend it. I used it breastfeeding for about the first 2 months, and after that I used it to prop him up on his tummy or behind his back. You don't use it to breastfeed for too long because the baby gets big enough to rest directly on your lap without you having to hold it up. In the beggining they are too small and you need the pillow so your arm doens't get tired.
Can I take a second to encourage your breastfeeding? It can be pretty hard at first, but keep it up. People say they will "try" to breastfeed, but that is the wrong approach. You have to just commit to it, or it will never work. If you give up the first time the baby latches on, you are doomed. Just keep trying and plugging away at it. It took me 3 weeks to really get into a routine and feel like I "had it down". Just trust that it WILL get better and easier, and eventually it will be second nature. My baby even lost a little weight because he wasn't getting enough at first. I had to supplement with formula for a few days, but I kept breastfeeding and now I am at 9 months successfully. So I just wanted to encourage you that it may not be easy at first but it will DEFINATELY get easy and great.

I LOVE the boppy. It's got just the right arm support for you and is easy to wash the cover of it. I haven't used the other pillows, but I stand by the boppy. (I wish i had had one for my first 2 kids..)

I just bought a boppy last night, I bought that kind because I like the fact that the outside cover comes off so I can wash it. There was a different kind at wal-mart but you couldn't take to outside cover off. They all serve the same purpose but I like the boppy the best-good luck!

Ive only used boppy's i havent nursed yet, but I have used them for feeding and other activties. I dont know what the breast friend is... but i'd have to stick with what i know works.
Boppy.
Theyre so freaking useful, so everything from feeding to tummy time, to spacing your pregnant legs while asleep on your side. Excellent basic pillows.

Honestly, after a few weeks you dont use them anymore. None of my friends used them for nursing past a month, and neither did I,
I say, get a boppy pilow since you can use it for sitting the baby up later on.
