As I just mentioned on another post. Traditionally any time after 12th night. Some people pull them down the day after Christmas, other leave up until mid January.

I believe the tradition is the 12th day after Christmas, which is 6th January. This is also the Epiphany, when Christians celebrate the coming of the 3 kings/wise men to visit the baby Jesus, which symbolises how He came to save all men, not just "His own" people (the Jews). A superstition is that it's bad luck to leave them up after the twelfth night, and in order to prevent the bad luck, you than have to leave them up all year. I'm taking my decorations down tomorrow, but if you don't agree with the tradition/superstition, take them down when it suits you!

Many take them down the day after Christmas whilst others wait till New 12 months's day. i do no longer think of they seem suitable or widespread after New 12 months's day. Be that because it may, we ought to understand that some communities (Greek/Russian Orthodox, Latins...) notice Christmas nicely into January (they use a distinctive calendar or have dinner social gathering days that are surely in January, including 3 Kings Day). as a result, the prepare of taking down decorations after our Christmas or New 12 months's would possibly no longer stick to right here.

Well I was always told that they should go up 12 days before Christmas, ie the 12th dec and come down 12 days after which is 6th Jan (tomorrow). To do it outside of these times brings you bad luck! A silly superstition I know but I always follow that!

Lots of folks take them down Jan 1. The traditional end of the holiday is the 12th day of Christmas, which is today.
Just don't let it go till half Christmas-June 25!
