I think it varies by team. Check their web site.

Seasons tix are available pretty much year round. We just paid for ours this week.
If it's opening day tix you are looking for they are usually availbale in every season tix packahe, including mini plans.
Most clubs start selling tix to individual games sometime between now and the end of February. Opening Day are still a separate deal tho, & many clubs only offer them as part of a package, or a contest.
Most tv/radio stations will also have some kind of contest, promotion offering a limited number of opening day tix. Check out your team's website, and send them an email if the info there doesn't answer your question.

It varies for a lot of teams. The Red Sox tickets are not only sold out, but pretty much all gone already. The Yankees have yet to start selling any single game seats.
Your best bet is to wait it out and check the team's website daily and wait for the announcement. If you are really jonesin' to know, you can call the ticket office and see if they'll give you any kind of update.
