I keep looking it up but i cant find anything...i can growl without hurting my vocal cords at all but not screaming...thanks...

Not Possible. Any time you scratch your vocal chords you are damaging them. Keeping constant moisture on them is the only semi hope you have at preserving them.

Vocalizing of any kind has the potential to damage the vocal chords. But the best way to vocalize is to breath from your diaphragm and project the sound through the mask of your face (the upper half).

There's actually training for singing that way - a DVD is out that helps you understand the technique to do it -- my nephew sings lead in a speed metal band and he does it all the time -- just takes a lot of practice so you don't blow your vocal cords.

practice screming the more you do it the more of a "calise" you will build
