February 14... mmm... let me check with my baby and see what our plans are....
really I don't feel so glib about this, having just gone through blue christmas... my true love is about 12,000 miles away, and we had a very blue x-mas, compounded by a severe disruption in overseas telecommunications after the Dec 27 Taiwan quake severed numerous undersea cables which screwed up all cable dependent telecommunications in the entire Eastern Hemisphere Pacific region from China to Australia.
To say the least, it was a long week+plus... much blues, many sighs and acute keenings of our hearts..
Now, Valentine's Day approaches, and how can I not dread it, for
unless we are very, very fortunate my love and I will not be together on this day which is for lovers!
If by some extreme good fortune we are able to be together even for a few days, I will celebrate! Actually, celebrate is not adequate to describe the wild ecstasy she and I will find if we can be together.
I'd say more like -- an exaltation, a jubilation, a rhapsody -- a coming together in a tempest of passion and ardent burning love the likes of which will surely make the gods and goddesses envy us two for the joy we will share!!!
And, if we are apart, then angels will weep, for kat and bender, on what will be the bluest blue valentine ever.

I do not dread this day anymore or less than any other day of the year; and I do not dread. Why give rise to woe? The sun will rise, the day will be, and what I find or do not find will not change if I dread it or do not.
I have no reason to happily anticipate the occasion, as there is no one special in my life at this time. If that changes between now and then, so I may also change and anticipate celebrating the occasion.
After all, love is always worthy of celebration -- and one never needs and should not wait for some holiday to celebrate it.

I have a little Valentines dinner with friends. Last year we played a DVD game (The family feud) - and everyone brought over a dish (pot Luck)
Its way too crowded at restaurants - and too much built up on it...
Plus its a time thats hard to go out whether you are single or in a relationship - so just invite a few pals over.
I don't put a lot of pressure on it - considering I don't expect my BF to get me flowers and treat me sweet one day a year.
Make it FUN!
