I know people that take them down the day after Christmas, some leave up until the end of January. Traditionally they stay up until just after 12th night.
Mine come down next week probably.

I believe the tradition is the 12th day after Christmas, which is 6th January. This is also the Epiphany, when christians celebrate the coming of the 3 kings/wise men to visit the baby Jesus, which symbolises how He came to save all men, not just "His own" people (the Jews). A superstition is that it's bad luck to leave them up after the twelfth night, and in order to prevent the bad luck, you than have to leave them up all year. I'm taking my decorations down tomorrow, but if you don't agree with the tradition/superstition, take them down when it suits you!

we don't. is this Russia? it somewhat isn't any longer Russia! we are able to take down the decor each time we desire! yet, 6 days after Christmas is often called the day the wisemen made it to Bethlehem, or the Epiphany, or 3 Kings day, so it somewhat is variety of considered the top of the Christmas season from a non secular perspective. so as that is why it somewhat is a wide-unfold day for taking them down. in many situations the weekend after New Years, which it somewhat is, is a mind-blowing time for taking them down.
