I am having a debate with my fellow male work mates. They seem to think that women are crap and are only handy for pathetic things such as house work and having children.

Ladies, it is time to get our hats on and name as many things as we possibly can of what ladies have done before men, or do better than men!! Please help me show up my jolly work mates as they think that they are the best creation in the world, which we know is rubbish.

Thankyou very much!

For the obvious, women gave birth to these men, women raised these men.

Queen Elizabeth and Eleanor of Acquitane were pretty hard-hitting, for one. George Sand was quite cool. Harriet Beecher Stowe made some nice contributions. Nefertiti and Cleopatra were pretty fierce. Marie Curie made some impressive contributions to science. Martha Argerich is an amazing pianist. Edith Nesbit wrote some good children's books. E.B White's work has stood out in history. Harper Lee's "To Kill A Mockingbird" is, I think, one of the most impressive works in contemporary literature.

Problem is, women have been oppressed for centuries so we've never had the same chances men have. Women were either screwed, or worked through their husbands, in which case they aren't recorded.

Historically, men had access to higher education. They could travel. They were respected. They had freedom. They could choose to devote themselves to being fathers, or pursue a career in whatever they chose. They were automatically assumed competent. If a woman wanted to be a physicist, it would be a big, BIG deal. She could study on her own, but never get in to a serious academic institution, never be respected. Women have only had voting rights for 80 years. Women have only been able to really get out of the home for 40 years.

The attitude that men still carry is left over from the days when they reigned supreme. Of course it's nice to think that you're the pinnacle of creation and the others are stupid. It's just wrong.

Besides, I'd like to see a man go through childbirth. Tell them to imagine squeezing a nine-pound baby through their d1ck. Make them take care of the kids.

Ideally you'd just ignore them. The question of superiority is stupid.

if it wasn't for us women the men who you are debating with wouldn't be around! it was a woman that gave birth to them, fed them and cared for them, no doubt a woman tidies up after them (no doubt their mothers!)
