Recent news stories, and many others, of ordinary people risking their lives to save a perfect stranger made me think what kind of person could do this? What qualities do you think it takes to do this? Could you save the life of a stranger if it meant endangering your own life?

I think emphaty for others. I would probably risk my life for almost anyone without any hestitation. we all have to die some day and the most noble way i guess would be to die saving another person

These two stories coming out of NYC are just like the best thing ever. I feel it is like a sing from God. It dosen't take anythig special. We are all capable of being heros. It is instinct to help people in a dangerous situation. Look how people come together in tragic times, 9/11, katrina, the tsunami. It is showing us that it is not the people of this world that are the bad ones, it is the ones who guide us, our Governments. We have or had no business in Iraq. I will tell you this, it has sure made me reexamine myself in the past 48 hours. God bles thes men...

Depends on the situation, but no. I'm a nihilist now, I have no reason to do so. The human race will continue on if I intervene or not. Eventually we will all be dead.

Perhaps if it were a friend's child. That's it for now.
