I know that I had very low progesterone levels when trying to get pregnant with my son. My DR told me it was only 1 or something like that. So i took meds to help me start my period then took Clomid. DR told me my body should be fixed after having my son.

I am now ttc #2 and Im worried that my progesterone has gone down again. I know I ovulated, had all the sympotms incluing plenty of eggwhite vaginal mucus, had 2 dark lines on ovulation test and even had some small pains in my right ovary. Do you still ovulate if you have low progesterone? Does anyone know any easy ways to tell if your progesterone is low?

I ovulate monthly, but my progesterone was around 6. The doctor put me on clomid which helped a little, but not enough. Then the doctor put me on Femara. This raised my level to above where the doctor wanted it (above 10). So yes you can still ovulate with low progesterone. I used to have the mucus during ovulation, but not anymore and not even on the meds. The only way I know is to get a blood test to check your progesterone level. Good luck.

If you are ovulating you might get pregnant. I had low progesterone and once I knew I conceived my doctor put me on Prometrium(synthetic progesterone) for the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy. At 5 weeks pregnant my level was like 14 were it should have been 20 or more. I went off the medication and the end of my 12th week. After your 12th week the placenta makes the progesterone, so you do not need to worry about your own body not producing enough. I am now 19 weeks and baby is fine.
Make sure you mention this to your doctor, because my girlfriend miscarried her first baby at 10 weeks due to low progesterone and with her second she took the medication until week 12 and she has a 9 month old daugther now.
By the way, don't know of any signs just blood work that comes back abnormal

If you're ovulating then you have nothing to worry about with your progesterone. Ovulation is the key. All you need now is for egg to meet sperm.
