I think he is, and the story goes beyond the numbers.

Fryar entered the league out of Nebraska as the #1 pick of the draft, and he was super-gifted: 6 foot 200 pounds, freakish strength, cartoon-size hands and legitimate 4.3 speed.
Unfortunately, he was also a thug who took drugs and beat women, and he was stuck on a terrible New England team for 9 years, or his entire physical prime, and put up weak numbers.
Then he found God and got traded, resurrecting his career in his 30s with the Dolphins and the Eagles, notching 5 1,000 yard seasons with both teams all after age 30 and ending his career in the top 10 in most categories. 5-time pro-bowler.
He was always durable and tough (n When his physical powers were at there zenith, he was an idiot on a bad team a and had no numbers.
When he was an elder-statesman (though he was still very fast and strong), he came into his own.
Fryar should be a Hall of Famer.
Final Numbers: 851 catches (10th alltime) 12,785 (10th alltime)

I believe he is, but Art Monk better go in first. The problem is going to be that both of their rankings will continue to fall to some of the more recent names in the game simply because the game is continuing to change. Most teams have always focussed more on the run than the pass. Now teams are winning in pass-first offenses and being successful (statistically anyway). Take a look at Marvin Harrison. His averages right now blow away those of the guy most consider to be the best ever to play the game - Jerry Rice. It's not even close. The numbers being put up by WRs in the past are going to continue to pale against many more as we move toward the future.

Maybe, he deserves it based on the numbers but he was never flashy enough i dont think. If theres a weak year somewhere down the road then maybe..

I think this is the same situation we will see with Tiki Barber, he has the stats but hes not a big attention grabber

If Lynn Swann is in the Hall then Fryer should be in the Hall. Monk should be there first though.
